The config behind the work.

A few defaults I want the site to communicate before anyone reads a resume bullet.

signal.md / Ryan Pitman

My work sits between practical product thinking and low-level curiosity. I enjoy learning how things behave under pressure, then turning that understanding into software that is simple to operate and kind to the next person who has to maintain it.

01

01 / Clarity

Make the next reader faster.

I care about code that explains its own shape: small decisions, readable flow, and fewer surprises hiding in the corners.

02

02 / Pressure

Learn where things bend.

Infrastructure-minded work is interesting because the edges matter: latency, reliability, review, deployment, and operational reality.

03

03 / Craft

Build the thing, then sharpen it.

I like implementation-heavy projects because they force honest feedback from the machine, the user, and the maintainer.

04

04 / Taste

Useful can still feel alive.

A good interface should be direct, responsive, and a little memorable without making the workflow harder.

Source files for how I learn.

The public repos lean implementation-heavy: core loops, input, state, algorithms, and the useful friction of making a program run.
